3 Foods To Avoid If You Have Acne
Three substantial reasons why acne appears on the skin is normally due to stress, hormones, and mostly diet. Being aware of our diet means that we have the ability to prevent a few acne breakouts from occurring. Consider avoiding these three foods to see clearer skin:
- Dairy – spikes blood sugar, which can increase inflammation and leads to pimples. It also raises insulin levels, which stimulate the production of skin oils (sebum). Try switching to almond or hemp milk!
- Sugar – Sugar in combination with certain kinds of fats increases acne inflammation which is likely to spike your blood sugar levels and cause you to break out hours later. Avoid eating sugary snacks & start eating fruit such as berries- which are a great antioxidant!
- High Glycemic foods – these are foods that break down quickly in the body, triggering an insulin spike and raising blood sugar levels. They trigger hormonal fluctuations and inflammation—both of which stimulate acne. Foods like white bread, processed cereals, white rice, potato chips, cookies, etc. Choose low glycemic-index foods instead, such as vegetables, whole grains, and fruits.
